THIS SUMMER
Air Camp, Inc. provides students with a variety of opportunities to learn about aviation and the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in aeronautics. Every event is packed with activities from the beginning until the end. Air Camp students explore exciting aviation sites around Dayton, Ohio, where the Wright Brothers invented and perfected manned, powered, controlled, heavier-than-air flight.

AN EDUCATION
IN EXPLORATION
Elementary Day Camp (2 Days) – $270
DAILY DROP OFF AND PICK UP IN THE GREATER DAYTON AREA
One learning site per day – Drop-Off and Pick-Up by parent / guardian at the same location daily. The same learning site for BOTH days will be utilized for ALL learning activities during the event.
Elementary Day Camp (3 Days) – $415
DAILY DROP OFF AND PICK UP IN THE GREATER DAYTON AREA
Up to two learning sites per day – Drop-Off and Pick-Up by parent / guardian at the same location daily; Students will be transported to learning sites during the event by a coach secured by Air Camp.
Highlights of the Air Camp adventure may include (All site locations are subject to change based on evolving availability.):
- Exploring the fundamentals of the Physics of Flight and Applications in Aeronautical Engineering
- Engaging in the science, technology, engineering, and math of aviation and aeronautics
- Developing leadership skills by working with others to share ideas and solve problems
- Discovering solutions to challenges that affect individuals, communities, and the world
- Fostering curiosity and a commitment to scholarship through hands-on experiences
- Collaborating to explore and initiate acts of citizenship and learning why it is important to help others

- Unmanned Aerial Systems Coding and Flying Missions
- Straw Rocket Design Challenge
- UAV Cargo Drop
- Boat Design Challenge (Emphasis on Buoyancy)
- Ejection Seat Engineering Design Challenge

3-Day Events may ALSO include:
- Up to 6 Learning Sites During the Event
- Exploring Key Components and Operations of General Logistics of an Operational Local Airport
- Discover Connections between the aviation and aviary worlds through Falconry
- Emphasis on Physics of Flight As Applied to Winged Insects and Biomimicry
- Trace Key Accomplishments of the Wright Brothers at related National Aviation Heritage Area Sites
- STEM Applications at Young’s Dairy (including complimentary lunch)

Middle School Camp (5 Days, No Overnight) – $935
DAILY DROP OFF AND PICKUP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON
Overnight Middle School Camp (5 Nights, 6 Days) – $1495
**Air Camp student applicants are eligible to apply for a limited number of tuition scholarships within the application.
Highlights of the Air Camp adventure include (All site locations are subject to change based on evolving availability.):
- Exploring the fundamentals of the Physics of Flight and Applications in Aeronautical Engineering (With an Emphasis on Actual Aircraft Use and Development)
- Taking the Controls From the Pilot’s Seat During an Actual Flight in a Single-Engine Aircraft Under the Direction of a Certified FAA Flight Instructor
- Demonstrating an understanding of the science, technology, engineering, and math of aviation and aeronautics while discovering general logistics and operations
- Taking flight ground school and piloting a plane at a local airport
- Engaging in Fire and Rescue Learning Modules
- Demonstrating a curiosity about and a commitment to scholarship under the direction of aviation engineers, pilots, mechanics, UAS manufacturers, and many others
- Executing leadership skills through team engineering design challenges
- Integrating citizenship skills by designing and participating in a service initiative
- Mission Planning and Solution-Based Challenge / Competition
- Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Experiences in Preparation of and Operations During the Flight of Unmanned Aerial Systems
- Analyze Flight Charts and Key Symbols for Navigation
Additionally, the overnight camp will include:
- Lodging for 5 nights at a local University
- All meals during the event
- 12 to 15 hours of STEM activities per day for a deeper exploration of STEM as it relates to Aviation and Aeronautics

High School Camp (4 days, no overnight) – $775
DAILY DROP OFF AND PICK UP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON
Overnight High School Camp (4 Days, 3 Nights) – $1145
**Air Camp student applicants are eligible to apply for a limited number of tuition scholarships within the application.
Air Camp is excited to continue our newest student program for participants in grades 10-12. Student participants will actively engage in learning modules developed with collaborators at notable universities and colleges in the Dayton, Ohio region. They will be immersed in experiences related directly to accessible, lucrative, and sustainable careers in aeronautics and aviation.
Examples of learning modules participants may experience include (All site locations are subject to change based on evolving availability.):
- Exploring the fundamentals of the Physics of Flight and Applications in Aeronautical Engineering (With an Emphasis on Actual Aircraft Use and Development)
- Taking the Controls From the Pilot’s Seat During an Actual Flight in a Single-Engine Aircraft Under the Direction of a Certified FAA Flight Instructor
- UAS Materials Testing
- Nursing / Medical Procedures at Ground Level and at Higher Elevations
- Digital Thread Engineering
- CAD System Utilization
- UAS Manufacturing (additive and subtractive)
- Aeronautical Chart Interpretation
- Technical Operations at Airports
- Aeronautical Navigation
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Investigate Connections Between Aviation and Aeronautics with Key Engineering Fields like Chemical, Civil, Biological, etc.
- Explore the Engineering Design of Airports
- Analyze Flight Charts and Key Symbols for Navigation
- Manipulate Closed Circuit and Electrical Systems
- Humanitarian Strategic Air Mission Planning and Solution-Based Challenge
- Practice Flight Using Flight Simulators Used by Professionals in the Field

- 12-15 hours per days of STEM activities
