Do teachers receive college credit for teachers air camp?

At this time, Air Camp does not have a program in place that will allow us to offer College Credit for the Teachers Air Camp, however each participant WILL receive Continuing Education Credits (CEUS) for the appropriate number of contact hours.

Can a teacher that is not an Ohio resident attend air camp?

ABSOLUTELY! Air Camp is a National Camp with participants attending from all over the United States.

Reignite Your Passion for STEM

Teachers Air Camp offers an exhilarating, hands-on experience that reignites a teacher’s passion for education. Participants collaborate to master a challenging STEM-focused curriculum, explore engineering design challenges, and discover innovative ways to bring science, technology, engineering, and math into their classrooms. With up to fifteen hours of immersive activities each day, teachers gain unique access to aviation and aeronautics sites, including behind-the-scenes tours at Dayton International Airport and the chance to pilot a small aircraft with an FAA-certified instructor.

Throughout the camp, educators connect with peers across grade bands and subjects to brainstorm lessons, units, and resources, fostering creativity, leadership, and collaboration. By the end of the experience, teachers return to their classrooms with fresh strategies to demystify STEM, build student confidence, and inspire curiosity—helping students embrace failure as a step toward discovery and shaping the next generation of STEM leaders.

Air Camp FAQs

Because we cannot invite all interested students to participate in Air Camp, we provide teachers with the opportunity to bring Air Camp into their classrooms. Teachers have the ability to significantly impact the trajectory of the future of each student. Our Teachers Air Camp program is a three night, four day event which includes engagement in immersive STEM activities at multiple sites, flight ground training, piloting an aircraft, receiving class sets of supplemental materials and aligned engineering design challenges, and collaboration time for ideation sessions.

Although STEM educators are given first priority in the selection process your application will be considered for selection. Educators from all content areas collectively impact each individual student’s level of confidence and competence to foster and develop their passion to pursue what calls them in life. We believe that you have the opportunity to inspire your students in unique, relevant, and meaningful ways each year by progressing in your own professional practice.

Teachers Air Camp is primarily funded by individual, organizational, and/or corporate donors. All interested teachers are required to apply through the online application open on our website annually from mid-February thru April 15th. There is no fee to apply, however all selected teacher participants are subject to pay a $100.00 non-refundable registration fee during the registration process, after being notified of their invitation to attend.

WHAT IS INCLUDED? Optional lodging at a designated area hotel (single occupancy) beginning on day one of camp, select meals, t-shirts (to be worn daily), course instruction, activities, a flightsuit and other Air Camp merchandise, as well as private bus transportation to and from all events during the camp experience. After camp, teachers will receive digital access to STEM lessons, engineering design challenges, and resources for students K-12.

**All transportation and associated costs to and from Dayton, Ohio on Day-one and Day-four of the event are the sole responsibility of the participant. Participants who are flying to Dayton for the event must secure plans and pay for the cost of transportation to and from Dayton, Ohio and to and from the airport on the first day, and back to the airport on the final day of the event.
