We're proud to be a part of the "Launch into Aviation" multi-day event, made possible from a grant provided by The Engineering and Science Foundation of Dayton and support from @airforcemuseumfoundation. Students from @dayton_public_schools, @ketteringschools and Northridge Local Schools attended WITH their parent/guardians to explore various aspects of the aviation industry at some of the best locales in the area, including @sinclaircollege UAS Center, @afmuseum and MacAir Aviation. It was really special to see them engage in the curriculum together and the pride and excitement captured here at the FLY DAY out at Greene Co. Regional Airport. 👏

🤏 There is still a little time to sign up for our last STEM DAY CAMP of 2026 - OCT 24 @osuairport in Columbus ⚙️ "Careers in Airport Technical Operations" is an incredible chance for High School students to explore various fields in aviation at a real working airport! From flight planning, crash investigation and pre-flight check protocol, to small aircraft building and pathways to getting a pilot’s license, participants will discover the STEM skills, teamwork, and decision-making that drive runway operations every day. 🙋🏻‍♂️ Registration is only $149 and closes on SEPT 30.

Last week JROTC students came together for some engaging STEM learning thanks to the continued support of @askrafi. Although weather grounded us from flying 🌧️🙅🏻‍♂️🛩️, we still had an electric day of soldering, simulators, coding drones and small engine building at MacAir Aviation. We are looking forward to getting them all up in the skies soon and have high hopes for all of them in the future. 🫡⭐️

Spots are filling up for our OCT 24 STEM DAY CAMP: Careers in Airport Technical Operations @osuairport ✈️ 👩‍✈️👨‍✈️

🧑🏼‍💻 9-12 grade HS students can register by SEPT 27!

Set at The Ohio State University Airport (KOSU) in Columbus, this year’s final STEM Day Camp puts high schoolers right where the action happens — on a real, working general aviation airfield instead of a classroom. Students check in through the OSU Airport terminal and spend the day moving between authentic operational environments: dispatch offices where real flight-planning software is in use, ARFF apparatus and gear used by actual airport first responders, a tower-style setup for practicing air traffic communications, and hands-on evidence work modeled on NTSB crash investigations. Being based at a functioning university airport — rather than a simulated site — gives students a genuine, behind-the-fence look at how a busy airfield actually runs, making KOSU less a backdrop and more a living classroom for the next generation of aviation professionals.

We are honored to celebrate Judge Walter H. Rice, a valued member of our Board of Trustees, on his retirement from the federal bench after an extraordinary 46-year career as a United States District Judge — capping nearly six decades of public service that began in 1969.

At Air Camp, we’ve been fortunate to benefit from his wisdom, integrity, and dedication as a member of our Board of Trustees. Judge Rice’s belief in mentorship, opportunity, and lifting up the next generation mirrors exactly what we strive to do every day for the students in our programs. We hope he’ll continue serving on our Board of Trustees for years to come.

On behalf of everyone at Air Camp — our staff, our students, and our fellow board members — thank you, Judge Rice, for your decades of service to our community and for the guidance and generosity you’ve brought to our organization. Congratulations on your retirement!

More summer recaps! June’s OVERNIGHT MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP (OMS #1) was a total whirlwind! We traversed the @afmuseum and climbed through a C-17 at WPAFB. We soldered circuits, built small engines and tested power-pole planes. Flew simulators, coded drones and sling-shot mini gliders. Not least of all, we took control of a small aircraft and logged some time in our flight log books!
